This Privacy Policy explains how DailyKnow (“we”, “our”, “us”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use the DailyKnow mobile application (the “App”).

1. Information We Collect

a) Information you provide

• Account information: If you sign in, we may receive basic account details from your sign-in provider (e.g., Google or Apple), such as your user ID, name, email address, and profile photo (depending on what you authorize).
• User content: Categories you select, custom categories you create, and text prompts you submit for AI fact generation.

b) Information collected automatically

• App usage data: Interactions with the App (e.g., viewed facts, liked/saved facts, selected categories), and diagnostics related to app performance and stability.
• Device information: Device model, operating system version, language, and identifiers used for advertising and analytics (as permitted by your device settings and applicable law).
• Ad data: When ads are shown, advertising partners may collect information such as ad impressions, clicks, and device advertising identifiers.

c) Purchases and subscription information

• If you purchase a subscription, purchase and subscription status is processed via our subscription provider (RevenueCat) and the app store (Google Play). We do not store your full payment card details.

   We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and operate the App (deliver facts, show selected categories, sync saved/liked facts).
• Generate AI facts based on your prompt and selected category (premium feature).
• Manage subscriptions and entitlements (premium access).
• Improve the App, troubleshoot issues, and maintain security.
• Show and measure advertising performance (free tier).
• Comply with legal obligations.

1. How We Share Your Information
   We may share information:

• With service providers that help run the App:
  • Firebase (Authentication, Firestore database, Cloud Functions)
  • Google AdMob (advertising)
  • RevenueCat (subscriptions and entitlement management)
  • Google Generative AI / Gemini (AI fact generation)
• With app stores (Google Play) to process purchases and subscriptions.
• For legal reasons if required to comply with law, enforce our terms, or protect rights, safety, and security.

We do not sell your personal information.

1. Data Storage and Retention

• Data such as selected categories, saved facts, liked facts, and AI-generated facts may be stored in Firebase associated with your account.
• If you are not signed in, some preferences may be stored locally on your device.
• We retain data for as long as needed to provide the App and as required by law. You can request deletion (see “Your Rights”).

1. Your Choices and Controls

• Sign-in: You may use the App without signing in, but some features (sync, premium AI generation, custom categories) may require sign-in.
• Ads/Identifiers: You can limit ad tracking via your device settings.
• Preferences: You can change your selected categories in the App at any time.

   You can request deletion of your account and associated cloud data by contacting us at: apps@lacksonmunthali.com

If deletion is available in-app, you can also delete your account from within the App settings (if provided).

1. Children’s Privacy
   The App is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your country) without parental consent. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can delete it.
2. Security
   We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
3. International Transfers
   Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own, including where our service providers operate. We rely on service providers’ safeguards to protect data.
4. Third-Party Links and Services
   The App may include third-party services (e.g., ads, subscriptions, sign-in). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

   We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date and, where required, provide additional notice.
